Araya A. Hargate failed to excite most of you yesterday with her fairy-tale interpretation of a Disney Princess in Zac Posen, however, she has a second chance to impress this evening. She attended the ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere held at the Palais des Festivals in France wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 gown. The slate-grey fully beaded fringe halter gown with jewel accents was thankfully not styled with any unnecessary jewelery. During Cannes we expect OTT jewelery due to the nature of the event and heavy sponsorship, but any jewels other than the small studded earrings and silver ring she possessed would’ve been overkill. Kate Hudson joined her good friend Gwyneth Paltrow at the Arts Club in London’s Mayfair yesterday evening for Gwynnie’s Goop party to launch the summer season. Inspired by her Ann Taylor capsule collection, Kate worked an all white look which was perfect for the theme of the occasion – though maybe not so much for the gloomy weather we are having in the capital. Kate wore an white top and pants with a Smythe sharp-shoulder metallic-coated linen blazer. The look is very effortless and perfectly laidback for such an occasion; however, her accessories made me go ‘hmmm’. I never did like those Casadei triple-stacked pumps, and the python bag is to casual for her look. The quartz necklace and fuchsia lip colour work, but I still feel like this look is missing something. Perhaps if she had the right arm candy I wouldn’t feel this way. The ‘Fast & Furious 6’ had its final stop on its world tour yesterday evening in Universal City, California. One of the main stars, Gina Carano, had three great looks during the tour. London Premiere: Earlier this month, Gina was in London, saluting our fine city wearing a look from the Vivienne Westwood Couture collection which was custom made for the actress. The signature gunmetal-blue sequin gown was styled with an ombre top knot and palladium jewels. Manila Premiere: The second stop was the Philippines, where Gina wore a Tom Ford bias-cut black gown with a high-low hemline styled with black-and-gold Givenchy sandals, an Amanda Pearl clutch and Melinda Maria earrings. LA Premiere: Going out with a bang, Gina’s gorgeous curves were showcased wearing a white Amanda Wakeley plunging gown with gunmetal beaded embellishments and a high-low hem with a layered train. With the risen hemline we were able to take a gander at her gunmetal Rupert Sanderson sandals, which perfectly complemented the beaded details on her gown, as did her Christian Louboutin silver fishnet clutch and Dana Rebecca Designs and palladium jewels. The Burberry is a simple yet elegant gown. The Westwood is nothing we haven’t seen before, even though I love the look, so my favourite here is the Amanda Wakeley. It’s the most unique of the three, it’s soft and feminine with an edge, plus it has reignited my love for embellishments.
