While the Billboard Music Awards’ blue carpet was heating up in Las Vegas on Sunday, Ginnifer Goodwin walked a separate blue carpet at the Disney Media Networks International Upfronts at the Walt Disney Studios in California. The ‘Once Upon a Time’ actress wore a black-and-white, pebble-print jumpsuit from the Theory Pre-Fall 2013 collection, which she paired with Brian Atwood ‘Evie’ peep-toe sandals. I’m generally never one to argue with a jumpsuit. On this occasion, I found myself wanting to peel off the all-business black blazer to see the full effect of this sporty-chic silhouette. Still, the sharp jacket was a nice counterpoint to all that print, but it also created a boxy silhouette at some angles. I would have added a belt to define the waist and break up the monochromatic pattern. A cat-eye flick of black liner and a bright fuchsia lippie brought the star factor to this look. http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/category/red-carpet-events/billboard-music-awards/ The post Ginnifer Goodwin In Theory – Disney Media Networks International Upfronts appeared first on Red Carpet Fashion Awards.

Jessica Alba was the special guest at yesterday’s Champion For Children Award Ceremony, hosted in her honour at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in Connecticut. For her VIP appearance, the actress selected an LBD. Her wool mohair frock was from the Fendi Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The dress’s striped, sheer-illusion effect added a lightness to the sleeveless, turtleneck design, which could have easily translated as overly heavy for the springtime. A leather obi-style belt, which wasn’t originally seen in the lookbook version, added a nice punch of edge. A refined updo, a flash of subdued jewellery, and a prim pair of black pumps finished off the elegant-chic—and event-appropriate—look. Dita Von Teese was the undeniable femme fatale at the Cointreau and Nikki Beach Present Dita Von Teese event, hosted during the Cannes Film Festival at Boulevard de la Croisette on Monday. The entertainer and Cointreau ambassadress may favour the colour black. But she can also play the queen of crimson, as seen with this Dolce & Gabbana stunner. The see-through red lace gown, worn over a matching bodysuit, was a veritable show-stopper—and a bit of a tease, just like Dita. It was all tied up with a rose-gold satin sash, which was the perfect bow on top to temper the sartorial sizzle. If there’s anyone who can flaunt one of the hottest trends-of-the-moment—sheer—it’s this burlesque beauty. Her signature jet-black, retro waves and red pout added another layer of sophisticated sultriness. This was old Hollywood glamour, sparked with modern sex appeal, done to the max. Talk about the ultimate lady in red. Credit: Getty The post Dita von Teese In Dolce & Gabbana – Cointreau & Nikki Beach Present Dita von Teese appeared first on Red Carpet Fashion Awards.

Sunday at the Cannes Film Festival in France included the premiere of ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’, which features Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake and Garrett Hedlund, and the premiere of ‘Blood Ties’, starring Clive Owen and Marion Cotillard. Garrett Hedlund: Not going with the traditional black tuxedo, Garrett opted for a Saint Laurent midnight-navy tux with black peak lapels. Keeping the color scheme dark, he paired it with a black shirt and a black tie. Garrett looks great, but unfortunately he is standing next to a major menswear mogul in Justin Timberlake. Justin Timberlake: In the past few months we’ve seen Justin wear tuxedos with perfection. He kept the streak alive, pulling out all of the stops in a beautifully tailored Balenciaga black tuxedo with peak lapels. He kept the look classic as always, with a crisp white shirt, and a black bow tie and cummerbund. To finish it off, he added a Cartier watch, a Lanvin lapel pin, and vintage mother-of-pearl cufflinks. Oscar Isaac: The star of the film went with a classic black tux, but a few key differences made it stand on its own next to Justin’s similar look. Oscar decided to wear a necktie instead of a bow tie and nixed the cummerbund. Simplicity always works with a tux, so Oscar did well. Clive Owen: Also sticking with the classics, Clive sported an elegant look in a black tuxedo alongside co-star Marion Cotillard. He finished off the two-button peak-lapel tux with a black bow tie and a white shirt. It’s a little difficult to choose a favourite out of these four. For me, it was between Garrett and Justin because of the midnight-navy colour and the overall perfection, respectively. I’ll have to give the nod to Justin because of the hair. Grooming counts too. The Hollywood Reporter hosted a party along with Jimmy Choo and Mouton Cadet at the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez in honour of the lovely Fan Bingbing on Saturday. The star of the upcoming ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ was named International Artist of the Year. Many of you will be delighted to see that she’s not wearing another Elie Saab embellished gown. On this occasion she wore a Valentino Resort 2013 gown. The colourful floral gown with an illusion yoke and sleeves is one of the gowns I had hoped to see on the red carpet, but with the Resort 2014 collection being presented I thought this gown would never see the light of day. Bingbing continues her love affair with the braided updo, adding Chopard jewels to complete her look. Brit Marling attended the New York premiere of her latest movie ‘The East’ held at Sunshine Landmark in New York City on Monday evening. The blonde actress oozed ‘It’ girl coolness, wearing a Prabal Gurung Fall 2013 dress. Her white silk-crepe draped-waist long-sleeved dress featured an asymmetrical satin hem and cut-out shoulder accented with gold studs. The look is simple, yet there are many elements to it as described above. She manages to pull it off; the effortless styling is the key. However, I would’ve preferred a different pair of shoes to the Valentino studded pumps she went for. The Cannes Film Festival is a grand hub of menswear suits and tuxedos. James Franco has certainly been one of the best, wearing well-cut suits along with his trademark smile. The Art of Elysium, Rabbit Bandini and Leon Max event for Ahna O’Reilly: Supporting his co-star Ahna O’Reilly, James stepped out in a blue notch-lapel suit. Usually fastening both jacket buttons is a no-no, but James did it multiple times and still got the slimming effect of one button. Along with the suit, he paired a white shirt with a matching blue tie. He also wore black shoes and aviators. I would have preferred brown shoes with such a light suit, but the black looks good. As I Lay Dying photocall: The second look came on Monday during the photocall before the film ‘As I Lay Dying’, which he both directed and starred in. For this he opted for a well-tailored black suit with notch lapels. He finished it off with a white shirt and a navy tie. The messy hairdo looks great too. As I Lay Dying premiere: On Monday night, James went fully formal in an amazing-looking black three-piece tux with peak lapels. The dapper look was finished off traditionally with a white shirt and black bow tie. This was the best fit of the three. I was pleasantly surprised by his three looks. Each of them fit perfectly and he kept them simple, even with a lighter-blue suit. Of the three, I think my favorite is the first look: the blue suit. It was a great colour for the event. For Day 6 of Cannes Film Festival, I selected two looks for my Best of the Day in association with shoecribe.com: Zoe Saldana in Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglisi and Zhang Yuqi in Roberto Cavalli. The shoes which Zoe inspires are these Alexandre Birman sandals featuring a black strap and snakeskin heel. Like Zoe’s look, there is a bit of mixing and matching going on here, plus the heels are uber sexy, just like her look. Beige McQ Alexander McQueen pumps were my inspired choice for Zhang Yuqi. The elegant pumps feature gold-studded accents, mimicking Zhang’s styling of her beige Cavalli gown with her gold Sergio Rossi clutch.
