After giving us plenty of glitz at the Billboard Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez toned things down for the ‘Viva Movil by Jennifer Lopez’ Verizon Wireless press conference on Wednesday at the Venetian Las Vegas in Nevada. The entertainer kicked off her new partnership with Verizon in an ultra-refined Louise Goldin Fall 2013 winter-white dress, colour-coordinating in neutrals with the company’s Executive Vice President and COO, Marni Walden. The body-skimming silhouette may have delivered more fabric than we’re accustomed to seeing on J. Lo, but she still managed to show off her enviable curves. Jennifer can obviously do sophisticated just as well as sexy. She did add just a touch of her signature bling quotient with Marina B ‘Onda’ hoop earrings and an H. The First Lady met with 6th graders from Willow Springs Elementary School in Fairfax, Virginia, who were visiting the Decatur House in Washington, D.C. today. As part of the visit, Mrs. O announced a $1 million grant from American Express to the White House Historical Association to preserve the house and slave quarters. For the appearance, Mrs. O turned to an old favorite, her wisteria print Tracy Feith dress, first seen during the 2009 inauguration and worn at least four times since! Angie Harmon cut a sophisticated profile at the 38th Annual Gracie Awards gala, which was held on Tuesday at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. With her matching micro-print Rebecca Vallance top and long skirt, the model-actress pulled off an outfit that few can—or dare—to wear. Featuring a high neckline and exaggerated sleeve, the look boasted of a regal yet bohemian fluidity, which was further accented by an onslaught of statement accessories including a Carrera y Carrera cocktail ring, earrings by IritDesign, metallic Rupert Sanderson sandals, plus a massive metal vintage cuff on each wrist. Emma Roberts created her own blue crush at the Intermix 20th Anniversary Celebration, hosted on Tuesday at The New Museum in New York City. To celebrate the retail powerhouse’s landmark occasion at Manhattan’s contemporary art hub, the stylish starlet wore an Ohne Titel Spring 2013 dress matched to a Tory Burch square frame clutch. The contoured, second-skin frock was actually quite the appropriate choice for the occasion, given it served up both a trendy and an artsy vibe. I have to say that this abstracted, body-map pattern was fascinating, and it managed to be downright flattering, too. It almost was reminiscent of blue monarch butterfly wings. While I didn’t miss the cap sleeve from the runway look, ordinarily I would have preferred a more inspired shoe than this black pair. But their clunky funkiness could almost get a pass, as they played into the mod flair. The styling was finished off with straight locks and a twist on a retro eye with Twiggy-inspired lashes, matching blue shadow hues and a nude lippie. While deep side parts and old Hollywood waves are right on-trend this season, the perfect, classic blowout never goes out of style. Case in point? Chloe Moretz’s flawless mane at the Billboard Music Awards. Parted in the middle, just the right amount of volume, and barely bent at the ends. Queen Elizabeth II hosted the Royal Garden Party held on the grounds of Buckingham Palace which was attended by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, earlier this afternoon in London. Catherine wore a summer look to cheer up onlookers, turning to one of her favourite designers, Emilia Wickstead. The Duchess dressed her baby bump in an elegant yellow-and-white ‘Marella’ silk coat. Her polished look was styled with pearl-drop earrings, a Jane Corbett hat, and her signature accessories including nude L.K.Bennett pumps and a matching clutch. This is another pretty look from the Duchess, however, the hat feels overly fussy on this occasion and I can’t help thinking that this probably should’ve been worn on Easter Sunday.
