The Bloomberg news recently had an article that reported on a new niche which has grown in the classic car collection hobby. It seems Ferraris, Aston Martins and other expensive name plates have given way to more affordable options. Those options are in the truck and SUV area. According to a Hagerty Price Guide Survey this area of the collector market has grown by 65% since 2008 far out pacing the37% growth rate in the market overall. Ford Broncos from the sixties and seventies have increased in value over 81% in this time and Jeeps in general are up by 21%. It stands to reason that since more people drive this type of vehicle these days owning a classic one seems only natural. Another reason for the growth is that parts are more readily available and there simply are more of these vehicles around, making them more affordable. Classic cars are still a very resilient part of the investment market no matter which niche you prefer. At Old Car Online vintage SUVs, Jeeps and just about every other vehicle made are available anytime you want to browse classic cars. Our user friendly site can help you sell your classic car online or help you find just the one you are looking for so drop by for a visit today.

The fact that the James Bond Movie franchise has lasted from 1963 to the present does prove some people never get tired of a good thing. This is something you can also say that about classic cars. The James Bond connection recently came up in auction news concerning an Aston Martin and a Toyota. It turns out the 1967 Toyota 2000 GT that went for $1.15 million at RM auctions recently was a car similar to a convertible Sean Connery drove in” You Only Live Twice”. Only 351 of these cars were built so that, along with the remarkable restoration job the former owner had done, helps to explain the price. Now the Bond car many are familiar with, the Aston Martin DB 5, driven in Goldfinger and Thunderball, which last sold in 2010 for $4.3 million, is up for sale again. There is a picture of the car with the rear bullet shield visible but there’s no word on whether the ejection seat still works. It is one of four that were made for the two films so grab your checkbook if you must have it. If you don’t have 4+ million to spare you can always browse Old Car Online for much more affordable, restored classics that we list new every day. Our site features some of the best classics available to help you get behind the wheel of a classic car that will knock your socks off without doing too much damage to your bank account.

The Model A, Henry Ford’s replacement for the Model T, was first unveiled in 1927. Like many other Fords it was a mainstay until new technology moved it aside. In this case the flathead V8 was built and so 1932 saw the last of the Model A. The Ford Motor Company used the new Ford V8 to start what became the American automobile business model, making changes each year to keep the customers coming back for more. This plan worked exceptionally well for Ford as the V8 lasted into the 1950s. This new Museum comes at a time when the Ford Motor Company is having its 110 year anniversary. Mr. Ford was born 40 years before and he built his first car in 1896. When the Auto manufacturing company was founded in 1903 it started producing the Model T and did so with great success right up to the date the Model A was created. He and his son Edsel, the namesake for one of their only unsuccessful models, were both at the company then. Have a deep seated fascination with some of Henry Ford’s famous creations? You can find many Fords -from the Model A to Mustangs, Falcons, T-Birds or Galaxies on our website. Browse our classic car listings today and you too can celebrate the Ford nameplate’s anniversary with your own classic Ford.

The seat of American car production, Detroit, will be host to a great double header on June 8, 2013. The Detroit Tigers will be playing the Cleveland Indians that day and they will also be holding their third annual Detroit Tigers classic car show. The show is being presented by the Motor City Casino Hotel and Total Lubricants. If you want to show a car it must be pre 1989, have insurance, be of show quality and be street legal. The classic Chevrolet Corvette definitely brings to mind different things to different people. Some think of the red car with the white side panels like Otter drove in Animal House. Some just think about the roar of the engine and the more basic car enthusiast might think about the fiberglass body but there is one Corvette that begs to differ on that one. A concept car called the Chevrolet Corvette Rondine that was produced for Italian Coachbuilder Pinafarina and shown at the 1963 Paris auto show will be at the Corvettes at Carlisle show August 23-25 this year. This unique classic is the only steel bodied corvette ever made. The Barrett Jackson auction price for this beauty a few years ago was $ 1.6 million; the highest ever for a Corvette. The body style is that of the 1963 Corvette but there are some subtle differences that give it a more European look. One of a kind concept cars are the dream buy of many classic car enthusiasts but there are many corvettes out there that won’t cost you a million and

The connection between Hollywood and classic cars has been seen many times. Whenever they do a period piece you’ll see stories where the movie maker calls for a certain vehicle that a classic car owner provides. When aging silent star Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevard” hears from Cecil B. De Mille she thinks it means that there will be a comeback when actually it only means that they needed her classic car in an upcoming movie. There is another connection between classic cars and feature films – the “cult” status that some achieve despite having been flops upon release. Many collectors will not give up their Corvair or Edsel if Steven Spielberg himself showed up with a checkbook. Just attend an all Corvair car show like the one they have every year in Downey CA or check out the Edsel Owners Club website and you’ll see what we mean. Part of their classic status is the fact that they flopped which means that there aren’t a lot of models available. All models of classic cars, cult favorites and others, are available to you on our website here. Browse the classic cars we have for sale and whether it’s a blockbuster or a hidden gem you can be sure it will please even the toughest of critics.

When you attend an auto auction you usually can’t tell which vehicle up for sale is the fastest. That was true until a recent auction in Canada that is. The Wall Street Journal had a recent blog post about the Toronto Spring Classic Car Auction and there was a vehicle for sale that no muscle car owner would brag that they could beat in a race. That auction featured a 1983 Boeing 767 – a former Air Canada jetliner that is famous for two things. This was the first plane with an LCD display instrument panel and this plane was also involved in a somewhat dubious accident. Thanks to a change to the metric system the onboard computer thought there were kilograms of fuel on board when it was actually pounds. With only half the fuel necessary to make the trip they ran out of fuel but the pilot glided the plane to a safe landing at a former glider base that was being used that day for drag racing. At Old Car Online we don’t have any airplanes but many of our muscle cars and hot rods could give this former “dr

When you are looking at a classic car for purchase its age may lead you to believe it has long over being a victim of depreciation but this may not be the case. Take the Range Rover for example – it is one of the Depreciation Kings according to Car Buzz, and for good reason. The three different incarnations of the vehicle are all plagued by the British Leyland Legacy of quality problems and the fuel injection system made for it in 1984 has some aficionados complaining mightily about the brand even today. It originally was used more as a piece of farm equipment and then these vehicles became like the Hummer – a jeep like vehicle the British army bought and used. Today they are in the luxury SUV category but are still fighting the old reputation. These vehicles may still be losing more value as they are driven off the lot than they deserve but their undying reputation seems to make this a sad fact of owning one. Purchasing a classic car online at Old Car Online can be a good way of getting behind
