The Model A, Henry Ford’s replacement for the Model T, was first unveiled in 1927. Like many other Fords it was a mainstay until new technology moved it aside. In this case the flathead V8 was built and so 1932 saw the last of the Model A. The Ford Motor Company used the new Ford V8 to start what became the American automobile business model, making changes each year to keep the customers coming back for more. The seat of American car production, Detroit, will be host to a great double header on June 8, 2013. The Detroit Tigers will be playing the Cleveland Indians that day and they will also be holding their third annual Detroit Tigers classic car show. The show is being presented by the Motor City Casino Hotel and Total Lubricants. If you want to show a car it must be pre 1989, have insurance, be of show quality and be street legal. Also car owners must go through a nomination process online and these nominations have been extended to May 17 – one hundred finalists will be shown.
