New movies this weekend include Star Trek Into Darkness (Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana), Black Rock (Lake Bell, Kate Bosworth), The English Teacher (Julianne Moore), Frances Ha (Greta Gerwig), and Stories We Tell (Sarah Polley). Mattel recently launched their new Cars World Grand Prix Splash Speedway Track Set. As a member of the Mattel Disney Insider program, I received the new toy for review and giveaway on my dad blog. The Cars toy can race over a dry or wet surface. In fact, the car can move in a tub, sink, or swimming pool. My son tried the toy in a sink and thought it was awesome. Oh right, my blog. Hello WordPress dashboard! Hello the five of you who still come around to see if I’ve died or not! But seriously. Where have I been? The answer is nowhere exciting. I can’t be the only person who feels like it was JUST the beginning of the year and now suddenly it’s half way through May? It’s very scary. Mostly because I’m not ready for legitimately anything coming up in our lives soon (oh a baby is going to exit my nether regions in 3 months? Do we need stuff for that?) and also because the child pictured above is all big and reading words and writing words and making jokes that are ridiculous and stuff. We’ve been enjoying the nice weather here in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve even fired up the grill for a little family BBQ. This week’s new digital, DVD and Blu-ray movies include A Good Day to Die Hard (Digital HD), Cloud Atlas (Tom Hanks, Halle Berry), and Texas Chainsaw. Die Hard (Bruce Willis) is an early release for the Kindle Fire HD, Xbox 360, PS3, Roku, and TiVO. Cloud Atlas flopped at the box office, but might be worth watching on DVD (I have not seen it yet).
