Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio were notably missing at some big events recently - Ryan wasn't on the red carpet at Cannes to support his film Only God Forgives, and while Leo was living it up in Cannes, he didn't make it down under for The Great Gatsby's Australian premiere. It's a historic day for the Boy Scouts of America, which just decided to welcome openly gay boys to its ranks. A group of over 1,400 leaders voted 60 percent to lift the ban, which was rooted in the pledge. It states that scouts must be "physically strong, mentally alert, and morally straight." The new policy, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2014, does not apply to troop leaders, who are still prohibited from being openly gay. Even so, the move toward inclusivity will be welcomed by the gay community and its allies. But it does not appear the organization was moved by a dedication to gay rights. A statement from the Boy Scouts read, "The Boy Scouts of America will not sacrifice its mission, or the youth served by the movement, by allowing the organization to be consumed by a single, divisive, and unresolved societal issue."

We're barely halfway into the year, but Beyoncé is already taking 2013 by storm. She kicked things off with Super Bowl promotions, announced her Mrs. Carter Show tour, took on a new appointment as the face of H&M, and even landed her first-ever covers for Shape and British Vogue. Tell me the truth: have you written a gratitude list lately? I know it’s very easy to get hurled from the wagon and forget all about it, only to realise you haven’t done one in eons. Installing Things I Love Thursday as a feature on my blog has definitely kept me accountable, and I think if I wasn’t doing a TiLT every week I’d probably forget all about it! You might like to start doing a regular gratitude feature on your own blog (and by the way, you’re more than welcome to use Things I Love Thursday as a moniker!). Or you could set a reminder on your calendar for once a week. It’s nice to use the time you spend list-making as a type of journalling. Make it special: put on some tunes that light you up inside, close the door, get comfortable, and start scribbling. Take this occasion to look back on your week and all that has transpired, the good as well as the bad. Explore the events and see if you can uncover some treasures that were only unveiled after a so-called “bad” thing happened. This is actually a way you can train your brain to be more optimistic, which of course ultimately results in a healthier, happier you! Getting all grateful on it can help you to manifest the things you want, too. When we count our blessings, we’re thinking about everything we already have, and we’re teaching ourselves to be content with the life that we have now. This makes manifesting much easier, since you’re not in that state of wanting all the time. It sounds weird, I know, but it works! Have I managed to talk you into it yet?! I wore a Trashy Diva dress, and we sat in the park, drank juice, and took cheesy pictures. It was so great to see her again! It was a special night in France with the 20th annual amfAR gala taking place during the Cannes Film Festival today. The event raises money for AIDS research, and this year, it featured The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show, as well as an auction. Guests were in for a special treat since a trip to space with Leonardo DiCaprio was up for bid! Before the fun began inside, though, stars hit the red carpet in their finest. Model Alessandra Ambrosio worked the cameras in a metallic gown while Goldie Hawn brought a pop of color in yellow and Rosario Dawson kept it neutral in black. Milla Jovovich, Jessica Chastain, in a red Saint Laurent look, Sharon Stone, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, and Ellie Goulding also made appearances. View Slideshow ›
