Dale Zanine-USA Today Sports There is certainly an art to the way that the Atlanta Falcons have pulled out so many games they had no business winning over the past few years. A quarterback like Matt Ryan, in his short career already establishing himself as an all-time great late-game player, tends to tip the scales almost single-handedly towards your team when it goes down to the wire. Including the incredible comeback to kick a game-winning field goal that led Atlanta past the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the 2013 NFL postseason, eight of the Falcons’ 14 wins came by one score or less while many involved pulling victory out of the jaws of defeat. Unlike in Ryan’s first playoff win, there were a few contests during the regular season, like in an early win against the Carolina Panthers, that just left you tipping your cap to Hotlanta for pulling another one out somehow, someway. This may turn out to be much tougher down the stretch in the Falcons’ 2013 regular season schedule. Starting Week 10, Atlanta closes out three division champs: at Green Bay Packers, vs. Washington Redskins and at San Francisco 49ers. This stretch also includes teams with very reasonable Super Bowl aspirations in the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. The only chance they might have to breathe a little here is probably Week 13 at the Buffalo Bills, with at Tampa Bay Buccaneers and closing vs. the Carolina Panthers — who hammered Atlanta down the stretch last year — both providing sneaky-difficult matchups. The overall improvement of the NFC South will also play a major role in requiring Atlanta to be on their game all four quarters more often to hit 13-3 once again. via www.brobible.com Here is a look at a second rounder that we may want to grab a pick for. Mike Muscala. He can rebound, block shots, has a hook on both hands, and is a good help defender. He had a very good game against a strong missouri team this year. He also lead the ncaa in double doubles with 22. He seems like a good fit to back up or even start at center. He also has 2 strengths our current center doesn't have, good rebounding instincts and good help defense. He has a 7'1 wing span that he puts to good use as shown with the quality of his rebounding per 40. I would take a flyer on him would you? via www.brobible.com Here is a look at a second rounder that we may want to grab a pick for. Mike Muscala. Getting tired of the mock drafts yet? Well, here's another one, but this ain't your grandmama's mock. This one has several picks playing out differently from how most of the mocks do. Does that mean I'm crazier than Birdman? Keep reading and find out: 1. Cleveland -- Nerlens Noel. This pick is either Noel, Porter, or trade. I think Cleveland keeps the pick. No one is really in heat to move up anyway. I think they want a big and a defender to pair with their young guards, Irving and Waiters. Not too much to discuss here. 2. Orlando -- Trey Burke. It's Mcelmore, Burke, or trade. The Magic have a very nice young SF-PF-C tandem in Harkless, Nicholson, and Vucevic. They need guards badly. They certainly could take McElmore but I think they want that replacement for Jameer. Burke has already shot up draft boards from the tournament and I expect him to also kill the workouts. They also have Afflalo under contract for at least 2 more years. While not spectacular, he's a solid player, and the need at PG is much greater. 3. Washington -- Otto Porter. One of the easiest calls if he's still available. They are quite set at guard with Wall and Beal (did you see his 2nd half last year? Bigtime star potential). They have some veteran bigs that can hold down the fort for a little while: Okafor and Nene. They also have done their best to get rid of knuckleads like Andray Blatche and get quiet, high-character guys, like Nene. That continues with Porter. They need a SF and they want the unassuming glue guy. Easy call. 4. Charlotte -- Anthony Bennett. This is one of the hugest wildcards. This pick is a major candidate for a trade. If they do stay, I have them having their pick of McElmore or Oladipo, but I do not think they will take them. The Bobcats are pretty well set at positions 1-3. They have Kemba Walker, Gerald Henderson, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. They need to sign Henderson but the ball is in their court, and if they let him get away, they are beyond foolish. This guy has shown major potential. He may be better than Mcelmore anyway. Charlotte needs two things badly: bigs and offense. The Bobcats were 26th in offense last year. They can't stay in games because they can't score. While they have Biyombo and Diop to play the 5, they don't really have any PF, let alone one that can score. Bennett has huge boom potential and will add excitement to a fan base that sorely needs it. They are getting their Hornets moniker back and they need a star to bring the fans in. Oh and speaking of grandmamas, who better to take the next Larry Johnson than Charlotte? 5. Phoenix -- Victor Oladipo. In my mock, both McElmore and Oladipo fall to the Suns. Both have their merits. Personally, I want to start with defense and a guy who is simply a winner. I've watched Oladipo quite a bit and I love to watch him play. This kid knows how to play the game. Guys like that always do well. He has improved every year he was in college, and it will continue in the NBA. I think the Tony Allen comparisons are selling this guy way short. There are two guys I'd like to compare him to: Paul George and Ron Artest. Now, George is much taller as is Artest. But what I mean with George is not too many people saw him coming but he has improved dramatically since has been in the league and is now a star. Also, he plays both ends of the court and is very effective at both (except when guarding Lebron in the last 2 seconds). George was picked much lower, but I still see Oladipo having a similar trajectory/effect. I say Ron Artest because of two things: defense and shooting. Ron Artest was always a good defender, but he wasn't always a great shooter. Now, he routinely drains 3s, especially when playing the Suns. Oladipo will improve the same way. Artest without the cray-cray. 6. New Orleans -- McElmore. In this scenario, NO is beyond elated to get a guy that most people have at least in the top 3, if not number 1.

In December 2011, the Detroit Lions signed little-known running back Joique Bell away from the New Orleans Saints. Jim Schwartz and Wayne State University fans were familiar with Bell's work, but no one knew what kind of impact he'd have, if any. He had tons of potential, but there was also a possibility he wouldn't even make the roster. Division II guys aren't exactly a dime a dozen in the NFL. Plus, the Lions' second-round pick Mikel Leshoure was finally healthy and ready to contribute full-time. Bell was the ultimate wild card for the Lions and had a breakout campaign in 2012. He proved he belonged in the NFL, and for that, Pro Football Focus recently labeled him their "Secret Superstar".The Lions have a number of players poised to follow in Bell's footsteps from obscurity to stardom. They got significantly younger this offseason and have unproven players vying for starting roles who could dramatically impact their success. These guys are wild cards. They could just as easily rise to stardom or fade into NFL obscurity. Jason Fox, OTI alluded to the number of young players that could be wild cards for the Lions this season. However, age isn't the only factor. Jason Fox is no spring chicken. He's been in the NFL four years, but his sample size is extremely small. Let me rephrase that—his sample size is zero. Injuries robbed him of his first three years. He spent last season, his first one healthy, buried on the bench behind Jeff Backus, Gosder Cherulis and Riley Reiff. The Lions held on to Fox, despite his lack of production, because they believed in his potential. With significant turnover on the offensive line, now is his chance to prove they didn't make a mistake. It won't be easy. He'll compete with Corey Hilliard for the starting right tackle spot. If he wins that, he then has to prove he's an upgrade over Gosder Cherilus—a frustrating but solid right tackle for the Lions. If Fox turns out to be the player the Lions believe he is, he'll make everyone forget Cherilus. On the other hand, he could be a dud who loses out to Hilliard or gets injured in training camp once again. Chris Greenwood, CBIf Chris Greenwood carries business cards, they probably read, "Chris Greenwood: the man, the myth, the legend."That's because his potential for greatness has clearly been elevated to mythical, or legendary, status. Many fans are ready to pencil him in as a starter opposite Chris Houston. It's understandable. At 6'1" and nearly 200 pounds, Greenwood ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at his pro day. Clearly he has the size, speed and athleticism the Lions crave for their secondary. He seems almost too good to be true. Unfortunately, he might be just that. Greenwood last played competitive football against Division III talent. He hasn't even practiced against NFL players yet. An abdominal injury robbed him of that, and there's no telling whether his measurables will translate to success on Sundays. He's healthy now and according to Mlive.com's Anwar Richardson, he's ready to make his second chance count. Only time will tell whether he can hang with the big boys, or if he needs more time to develop. It's essentially his rookie year, so expectations should be kept low. On the other hand, size and speed can't be taught. Greenwood has those things in spades, and that makes his potential impact very intriguing. Tahir Whitehead, OLBWhitehead was drafted in the same round as Greenwood in 2012, and to most his selection was just as big of a surprise.Unlike Greenwood, Whitehead contributed on a regular basis as a rookie—on special teams. He did well, finishing third in tackles (10) and forcing one fumble according to detroitlions.com. This year he'll compete with veteran Ashley Palmer and fellow second-year player Travis Lewis for the starting OLB position vacated by Justin Durant.Whitehead has the most upside, though. He was a pass-rusher in a 3-4 defensive scheme in college but has benefited greatly from having a year to play special teams
