The theme for this week’s Quilters’ Show & Tell Flower Gardens. Any quilting style is acceptable and unfinished quilt tops are welcome as well. I want to see lots of flowers either in the design or in the fabrics chosen. Also, please don’t submit a quilt you’ve already entered in the past… let’s see something different! Read the Guidelines and submit your photo before Friday, May 24th, 2013 at 8 a.m. (EDT). Sponsors To sponsor a weekly Quilters’ Show and Tell event, please send me an email and I’ll send you the information package. Check available dates here. Sponsors are featured on the voting post published on Friday. Guest Judges Want to be a guest judge? Guest Judges have 100 bonus points that they can assign to their favourite quilts. Obviously, you can’t enter that week if you’re a judge. If you’re interested, check the schedule, and drop me an email me indicating TWO possible weeks that you’re interested in judging, along with your blog address (if you have one). Preference will be given to people I have communicated with in the past.

It’s definitely green – and I’ve been green with envy over those who have been lucky enough to find one of these! This is an Elna Grasshopper ---classic 1950s styling! I’ve always admired them ----and they DO look a lot like a grasshopper or praying mantis the way that the knee control folds up and out of the way! Maybe, since this is the year of the CICADA…I could call it one of those as

UFO busting is SO important. Because if you have these UFOs around giving you guilt, you just can't have any fun. Am I right? My UFO Busting Tip 5 is the "Search and Rescue" It is VERY important one Ask yourself these questions When was the last time you actually SAW the top of your cutting table Is your ironing board piled HIGH with crap that needs put away.. .. treasures you purchased? Do you HAVE your newly selected 3 to 10 UFOs in a spot where you can actuall GET to them?  Where are your Scissors, rotary cutter, favorite Ruler, needles and thread (pick one ..or all!) Can you just SIT DOWN and sew at ANY time? Or is the machine covered in projects that you have to move Do you have a project 'at the ready'..and what is it in? No it does not count if it is in a box under the bed in other room  Do you see where I'm going with this one?  You need your STUFF at the ready. Don't waste precious time hauling out the sewing machine looking for your rotary cutter clearing off the ironing board hunting for your hand work so you can take it with you And this all got put here since MONDAY well maybe NOT ALL.. like my blue bowl I have no clue WHAT is in the blue bowl.. not good *********** I think if we had THIS Ironing Board Cover ************ ************ We'd be able to find it the board ************ Just saying.... If you know where to purchase put that cover tell us in the comments, I couldn't find any stores except in the UK.. mmmm.. what's with that?! Your assignment Identify THREE organization things that make it HARD for you to get to work Tell me what they are in the comments Now FIX THEM (yes clear off that ironing board and KEEP it clear!) Reward yourself when that is done Share BEFORE and AFTER photos at Flickr!! Let's GO SEW! Share what you are working on HERE at my flickr group CLICK HERE to get in on the chat at QuiltMashup.... get support anytime you need it

Happy Wednesday! I thought I'd start off today's post by sharing the three Moda bundles I couldn't live without from Sample Spree. Clockwise from left are Simply Style by V & Co., Potluck by Sandy Klop, and Sunnyside by Kate Spain! My Moda booth post is almost finished, and I'll share it tomorrow. One of the booths I visited while at market was the Craftsy booth. I've enjoyed writing

Ahhh, the last day of school. The end of second grade. Look how tall Jack is next to the tree now! This year went way, way, way better than first grade. Last summer I was pretty sure I should just homeschool Jack. This year? Yea, no. Academically it is still very, very easy. But he had a totally different style teacher this year and they worked together so much better. He has shown a lot of true social growth and maturity this year. He even got in trouble once with the substitute! (A miracle for Jack who would never before act out in any way in school. It was over something silly - a dot on someone else's paper, but it really shows how much his teacher's focus on fun helped him step out of his shell.)My passport to public speaking was a success too. He is doing so much better at answering people and speaking to people out in public instead of just hiding. So the verdict on second grade is a total win. He is going to ican bike camp here in two weeks to learn how to ride a bike (still a real challenge for him) and I am hoping that will give him an even greater sense of freedom and independence. And I am hoping to get him going on some tougher academic stuff this summer to stimulate that part a little bit too.Now it's onward and upward to summer time!(I am working a little bit every day on the yo-yo quilt. And making progress! It almost looks like a quilt again.)

I was not even sure this trip to Florida was going to happen because I had to report to jury duty on Monday. We had scheduled our first day of vacation on Tuesday because I am the president of our guild which met that Monday night. So at 8am I reported for jury duty. First thing in the morning the woman in charge called out a bunch of people from the group. There were about ten of us left. So we sat and sat. We went to lunch and sat some more. Finally at 4:30pm a jury was picked and I was let go. Yippee! I didn't have to postpone my vacation. I went home, got my stuff for guild, did my thing there, came home and packed. Whew! what a day. Tuesday morning at 5am we hit the road. First state we passed through was South Carolina.(no photos) Next state, Georgia. My turn to drive. If you look close along the horizon you can see Stone Mountain which is one of Georgia's famous sights to visit. Check out the traffic! Always lots of traffic going through Atlanta. Downtown Atlanta. Next state Alabama. This was the view from the rest stop near Eufaula, Alabama. Almost there. Finally came to the Florida state line.About 12 hours later we arrived at my mom's house. Those 12 hours included a couple of stops to eat and stretch. It was so good to see my mom, it had been way to long. My dad had passed away from cancer 20 years ago and my mom has since remarried. He is a good guy. Next morning Mr. P. and I got up to spend a day at the beach. My mom lives approximately 30-40 minutes from the beach. We decided to take the scenic route. The south is known for its moss covered trees. Here are photos of the bay. We visited some antique stores while downtown. I love taking photos of old movie theaters. After doing a little shopping we continued toward the beach. We have to cross the bay by this bridge. The original bridge was taken down several years ago. That old bridge was a little scary to cross. The route has changed a little to make the traffic flow smoother but not quicker in the summer time. Then it is bumper to bumper traffic. That tall building did not used to be there either. To the right is the neighborhood I used to live in. Mr. P. lived there too and that is where we met. We went to high school together. Tomorrow I will share some sights from the beach and the next post I will share some quilty stuff. With Passion,Carrie P.
