Topher Grace, Sarah Silverman and Patti LuPone are packing up and heading for the Garden State. Former “That ’70s Show” star Grace, Silverman and LuPone have been cast in the HBO pilot “People in New Jersey,” from executive producers Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer. Also read: Topher Grace in Talks for Supporting Role in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ The pilot, being penned and executive-produced by Bruce Eric Kaplan (“Six Feet Under”), is billed as “a hilarious, poignant look at life today as seen through the prism of an adult brother and sister living in New Jersey.” Grace will play Carl Levin, an affable locksmith who has a definite idea of how things and people should be and, perhaps as no surprise, is single and dating constantly. Also read: Sarah Silverman Sets Live ‘N—–head’ Comedy Special in Texas Silverman plays Melanie Levin, a former management consultant who now works part-time at a department store’ she’s involved with a man in what her mother describes as a “half-relationship” — and is yet a closet optimist. LuPone plays opinionated family matriarch Rachel Levin, who’s been somewhat lost since the death of her husband. She focuses a lot worry on her children and why neither has settled down. Paul Feig is directing the half-hour pilot and is also serving as an executive producer. Producers are HBO Entertainment in association with Michaels’ Broadway Video and Feigco Entertainment. Ilene Landress is supervising producer, with Jessie Henderson, Gina Heyman serving as producers. Sarah Silverman, Tom Papa, Chris D'Elia and Yakov Smirnoff are among the comics set for a show to benefit Make A Film Foundation's Vidz-4-Kidz program. The Comedy Con charity night will be held at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. The Make A Film Foundation is a non-profit organization that teams children who have serious or life-threatening medical conditions with noted entertainment industry professionals who help them create short film legacies.
