Justin Bieber kicked off his Journals releases on Monday with first single “Heartbreaker,” currently #1 on iTunes in 63 countries and counting at time of press. But for those who can’t wait until next week the teen star has teased what may be a future release, most likely titled “Rollercoaster.” Earlier today (Oct. 8), the 19-year-old posted an Instagram video of his manager Scooter Braun, who has joined the singer in South Korea ahead of his Believe tour concert on Thursday. It was captioned,” Scooter acting like Rodney jerkins lol… Rodney’s a legend.” The Instavid showed Braun doing a pretty dead-on impression of RnB producer Jerkins jamming on an imaginary keyboard while “Rollercoaster” plays in the background. Jerkins — a four-times Grammy Award winner who has worked with the late Michael Jackson, the late Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Brandy, to name just a few, and co-wrote/produced two songs on Bieber’s 2012 Believe album — has also worked on the Canadian’s Journals collection. Like “Heartbreaker,” the latest snippet reveals Bieber’s deeper move into full-on RnB but maintains the sensibilities of what makes pop great — a catchy, singalong chorus. Listening to the brief tease, the sound is vintage Jerkins circa Brandy’s acclaimed 2002 Full Moon album, echoing the Moog Bass funk of the title track, “I Thought,” and “What About Us?” Midnight, October 14, is the designated time for the next #Music Mondays reveal, so fans will have to wait and see if “Rollercoaster” is rolled out, or not. In the last few months Bieber has been in the studio with hitmaker/artist Future, Pharrell Williams, R. Kelly, Wiz Khalifa, Tyler The Creator, and it’s rumored Chris Brown may have co-penned a track. Anticipation and debate about Justin’s transition from highly successful tween and teen-orientated idol to a mature artist spiked when he contributed cameo raps to Maejor Ali’s “Lolly” video, Asher Roth’s “Actin’ Up,” also singing on Young Money rapper Lil Twist’s “Twerk” record and “Wait For A Minute” featuring the (also Young Money) rapper Tyga. Pearls were clutched while some speculated Bieber would be returning to the music fold reinvented as a rapper. But, as Bieber said last year, “I am a singer — that is my passion, Rapping is something that I like to do for fun.” Over in South Korea, Braun’s take on Journals is a thrilled one. Earlier today he tweeted: wow. listening to the mix for next week’s #musicmondays song from @justinbieber – the kid is bringing R&B back next week. LEGGO!! — Scooter Braun (@scooterbraun) October 8, 2013 He later tweeted Bieber the news “Heartbreaker” is #1 iTunes in 63 countries, while attributing its success to ‘Beliebers’ and whetting their appetites for more. just made some big moves with the #journals #musicmondays songs. wait until people hear what is coming @justinbieber! WOW — Scooter Braun (@scooterbraun) October 8, 2013 For his part, Justin also expressed delight at the reception to “Heartbreaker” as well as excitement for “Music Mondays” and his Christmas-slated Believe movie-documentary, taking to Twitter to tell his over 45 million followers, Other continents. Other cultures. Love it. So blessed. Thanks for letting me live my dream. — Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) October 8, 2013 And #heartbreaker is still #1 — Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) October 8, 2013 it is all coming together. #musicmondays #10weeks #BelieveMovie and some more — Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) October 8, 2013 Take a listen to the “Rollercoaster” teaser and let us know what you think in comments. Last week, Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor clashed in a very public disagreement after the Irish singer offered the young popstar some advice on the downside to fame and fortune in an open letter posted online. The connection came when Cyrus claimed she was influenced by O'Connor's iconic 'Nothing Compare 2 U' clip when shooting her risque vid for 'Wrecking Ball'. Now, in a very arbitrary attempt to keep the peace, one budding producer Robin Skouteris has mashed Read MoreBlog: The Line Of Best FitRelated: Whitney Houston Gets Mashed-Up With Robyn: ListenLana Del Rey Gets Mashed Up With Notorious B.I.G. Among the most underrated triple threats of the decade is Sean Van Der Wilt. After opening up for the Black Eyed Peas, dancing alongside Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Usher, Rihanna, Beyonce and other legendary musicians as well as appearing in films such as My Week With Marilyn, Bring It On and The Producers, to name a few, Sean's career was obviously picking up steam as he headed for stardom. Most notably, Sean was the last client to ever be signed by the infamous music mogul Lou Pearlman, who established his notoriety by signing and building boy bands such as The Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Aaron Carter and more, before it was learned that Pearlman had been running one of biggest Ponzi schemes in entertainment history. Then came a huge blow to the thrilling roller coaster ride of success Sean was experiencing in 2008, when Pearlman was caught on the run and sentenced to 25 years in prison, pleading guilty to conspiracy, money laundering, and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding. Amidst the Pearlman debacle, family health issues and a tarnished ex-record label, Sean amazingly regained his momentum, performing alongside Pong Long for the inaugural ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, acting in theatrically distributed films (listed above) and most recently linking up with Mark Cole (Chris Brown, etc) to produce his latest single and music video, "SWC" (Shoulda Woulda, Coulda) released by VEVO less than two weeks ago. The video features the stunning Tyne Stecklein (of Dancing with the Stars acclaim) and clearly marks Sean's re-entrance to the world of pop, now with a new dash of EDM to go along with his already familiar dance, stunning voice and his indisputable and remarkable showmanship. His new single, "All In" will be premiered at one of Hollywood's finest venues and one of the biggest, most prestigious events of the year. Details soon to be announced. Well lordy lordy, it's that time of year again when the X Factor producers rent properties abroad because it's impossible to judge whether people can sing on live TV in England without seeing them in some glamorous setting. To be fair I think Sharon does use her own house but that's not a huge consolation because the whole place seems to be riddled with dog shit. Just like the canal path where I walk Charlie. Hopefully the producers will have worked out how to edit the show this week and we won't have to end the Saturday portion of the show half way through Sharon's overs... Anyway, enough lollygagging around (whatever that means), let's get on with the re-cap... THE OVERS:INTRO ~ As One Direction's Best Song Ever plays in the background, we join the boys (sans Tom Mann! Criminal!) in Los Angeles and they seem to get an unusually unfriendly check in girl who smiles and everything. This has NEVER happened to me. The overs are also at the airport and heading off to Los Angeles. Sorry to rain on your parade, but it seems unlikely that they don't know they are going to LA as they would have had to get visas/ESTAs and everything. Who cares though when Joseph is wandering around in a tank top, or wife beater as the Americans bizarrely call it...SAM ~ Sharon is judging with Robbie Williams. I'm really disappointed actually that she's not judging with Judge Judy because that would be absolutely amazing. Oh well. Anyway, Sam's life has changed since doing the competition. It's a bit repetitive hearing these platitudes over and over again but what can you do. She does a bit of Whitney and it's quite nice. Robbie moves forward in his seat to hear better and also seemingly to adjust his crotch. How elegant. It was very atypical of what you would expect from the over 25s category and whilst there is no denying her voice is lovely, I want something a bit different from this much maligned category this year...LORNA ~ Lorna can't believe she is in LA. It's a dream come true. PLATITUDE ALERT! Dermot bigs her up which is probably necessary as she may have caught sight of what she is wearing and given herself a panic attack. She does a very credible If I Were A Boy. God Judges Houses are the most difficult week to write because generally everyone is quite good and you can't take the piss out of their song choices so you have to be a Mean Girl & pick on their flowery dungas outfit instead. Horrid. SHELLEY ~ What annoys me most about the over 25s is (probably due to the editing) their constant insistence that regular jobs aren't classed as successful. They are only successful if they are famous and singing which sends a horrible message to the youth of today, and is a right kick in the knickers to everyone who does work hard & is successful at it (and maybe likes what they do to)! She does some "sexy" version of Girl on Fire which I hate. Hate hate hate. She will work my last nerve if she gets through to the live shows, I've already decided...ZOE ~ This is very ballad heavy so far isn't it? I'd quite like if someone did something a bit more uptempo. Don't let me down Zoester! oh. She's doing Fix You by Coldplay which can hardly be described as joyous & euphoric. As she starts singing the producers edit bits of her talking into it. Bizarre. I do like Zoe's voice but her eyebrows scare me. As does her attitude that she can't tell her kids she didn't get through. She's 3 1/2! She will have no concept of what this means! Take her to Disneyland Paris - she'll soon get over the trauma!ANDREA - she is playing the flute. And it's not a euphemism. I half expect to see Pan pop out of the bushes and do a little jig. She's doing a ballad - Radiohead's High and Dry & decides to do a dog whistle note at the end which made me dog whimper & hide under the table. Poor thing hasn't recovered yet. Silly Andrea. She's like a blonde Miley Cyrus so if she gets through I fully expect her to recreate Wrecking Ball for the live shows.JOSEPH ~ I'm fully expecting our Joe t

by ANDREW BRANDT [Other Downloads You Won't Regret] CHVRCHES – It’s Not Right But It’s Okay (Whitney Houston Cover) A glittery and clap-happy victory lap for CHVRCHES, recorded during a BBC radio session. Volcano Choir – Comrade (All Tiny Creatures Remix) Volcano Choir unearthed a bunch of “Comrade” remixes this week. This is my favorite of the bunch, but the rest (which can be found here) are worth checking out as well. Akhet– Blown Away ft. Azealia Banks Banks made big news this week dissing Disclosure, but she also quietly dropped the loud “Blown Away”, which she guests on. Meek Mill – Rich Porter ft. Rick Ross Meek Mill dropped the third entry in his Dreamchasers mix-tape series earlier this week. Album standout “Rich Porter” showcases what he does best: sit back, relax, and make boasts over a harsh beat. Lo Fine – Lie In White Lo Fine is a great, lost American treasure, founded by Kevin O’Rourke in 1998. “Lie In White” is a two-part track guided by O’Rourkes warm delivery and fuzzy guitars. Modern Life Is War – Fever Hunting Well, apparently the emo revival is upon us—whatever that means. Revival or not, Modern Life Is War is a band that needs to be taken note of, and the ferocious “Fever Hunting” is a good place to start. Blaenavon – Wunderkind (Antlers Remix) This “Wunderkind” remix has touches of the Antlers’ hooves all over it, from the airy atmosphere to the polite splashes of horns. Those Darlins – In The Wilderness Those Darlins released their latest album, Blur The Line on Tuesday. “In The Wilderness” finds the band harnessing their rock and country sound. Blue Sky Black Death – Keys ft. Gucci Mane, Deniro Farra, Nacho Picasso & Mack Shine Blue Sky Black Death are a production duo from Seattle, and on “Keys” they’ve enlisted a handful of rappers to ride out their flow. Lady Lazarus – Never Ever Anna Lady Lazarus—not unlike Youth Lagoon—finds comfort in the open nothingness that surrounds her voice. “Never Ever Anna” will stick to your gut before it wrenches it clean. TRAAMS – Sleep “Sleep” is a raw, catchy offering from TRAAMS that will make you wanna do anything but. Read more articles like "11 Downloads You Won’t Regret" on PMA - Pretty Much Amazing. Powder skiing makes me happy. I don't mean I enjoy it — enjoying is what I do other kinds of skiing. No, powder skiing makes me happy — it changes me. I'm a pretty focused guy. I love to laugh, and I roll in humor like a dog in long spring grass, but peals of laughter don't come ringing out of me. What can I say — that's my nature. I'm busy thinking, or something. In powder, though, I am transformed. I talk to myself, I make moto noises, I smile — not on the inside, but on the outside where all could see if any were looking. My spirit takes flight, I can feel it inside, fluttering against my corporeal self, trying to get out and soar, and yes, it feels just like the lyrics of a Whitney Houston song, but it's so much better. I'm elevated with the lightness of being alive in the cold uplift of soft untracked snow and the miracle that is skiing. Ski towns are full of surprisingly angry people, typically dudes, typically in their mid-30s and up. I have a theory about why there are so many angry men in ski towns (and no, the answer isn't because there are so few women), which I may or may not write (it'll just piss them off if I do). For whatever reason, though, there's a lot of aggression being vented around ski areas, especially on powder days. There might be conviviality in the tram line, but once out of the box it's Chinese downhill. Not so for me. Oh yeah, I race. I want firsties as much as anyone. But it's like I have Bob Marley whispering in one ear, Gandhi in the other, and a little tank of nitrous streaming into my brain. The world is just so perfect on a powder day, and I'm perfectly happy in it. And, yes, it would be nice if every day felt like that, but it doesn't, and that's one of the things that makes powder skiing so special. Photo by Jordan Manley
